Dell Inspiron 910 release date: 5th September

According to a post on Gizmodo Dell’s answer to the likes of the ASUS Eee PC and the MSI Wind, the Inspiron 910 is to be released this Friday, September 5th 2008.  No word on what the source of this information is nor on whether the pencil will be included in the package nor on in which markets the Inspiron 910 will be available.

Dell rolls out Ubuntu 8.04 systems

Dell has rolled out systems with Ubuntu 8.04 pre-installed.  Choices are limited to either the Inspiron 1525 15,4″ laptop, Inspiron 530 desktop or XPS M1330 12.1″ laptop.  The systems are available in “in the United States, France, Germany, Spain, Canada, United Kingdom and many Latin American countries (like Mexico and Colombia).”

Dell is set to add the XPS M1530n and Studio 15n to it’s Ubuntu line-up in early August.

Dell UMPC Details Emerge

About two weeks ago we got a small sneak preview of Dell’s own sub-notebook.  At that time we got almost no details except for what could be seen in a few photographs but now Dell has more for us.

Known as Dell E and Dell E Slim they are going to have 8.9″ and 12.1″ screens, respectively.

There will be five different configurations available (three for the E plus two for the E Slim).  More details on the configurations and a gallery after the break.

Dell (Sort of) Unveils Eee PC Rival

Apparently Dell is set to unveil some sort of sub-notebook soon.  No details other than the two pictures included in this post have been revealed yet.  All that we know, or think we know, is that it will land in the sub-$500 price range, have a 8.9″ screen, choice of both Windows XP Home or Ubuntu Linux, 8-in-1 card reader, integrated webcam, direct media playback buttons, and a “host of wireless access options.”
